29dec11 - MRT breakdowns: Committee of Inquiry appointed 15&17 breakdowns on SMRT's North-South Line
28dec11 - SMRT secures track claws - In its latest update following the two train disruptions this month, operator SMRT said it has completed securing the claws along all underground tracks on both the North-South and East-West Lines. The claws hold up what's called the "third rail" which supplies power to the trains.
17dec11 - North-South Line service resumes after 7-hour disruption - Services on the entire North-South Line resumed at 1.48pm on Saturday, about seven hours after they were disrupted due to a fault with the power rail system ... In the service breakdown on Thursday, a misalignment between the special components - the train track and 'collector shoes' - that trains draw power from, had caused the fault ... This is a third service breakdown this week for the train operator. On Wednesday, parts of the Circle Line were affected by a technical glitch during morning peak hours. On Thursday, service breakdown on the North-South Line caused commuter chaos during evening peak hours.

16dec11 - SMRT CEO apologises for MRT breakdown - SMRT CEO Saw Phaik Hwa on Friday offered her sincere apologies to all MRT commuters affected by the five-hour breakdown on the North-South Line during rush hours on Thursday evening. The disruption affected 127,000 passengers including 1,000 trapped in each of the four trains that stalled.
