  • UM Main Library - Provides on site access to books, journals and online digital data (RM220/year subscription for non-UM alumni). 

    • UM Library Interaktif - Offsite online access digital data restricted to only staff & students.

    • UM Theses  - Copies of all UM PhD and Masters theses are held in the Minda Hall.

    • Eprints - an open access digital archive containing the details of published and unpublished research work produced by the UM researchers. It has been established to provide a deposit service for the academic staff and researchers.

    • e-journal@UM - online journals (34) including: International Journal of Property Science, Journal of the UMMC, Journal of Surveying, Construction and Property, Malaysian Journal of Library & Information Science, Engineering e-Transaction.

  • TRID (Transport Research International Documentation) - combines records from TRB's Transportation Research Information Services (TRIS) Database and the OECD's Joint Transport Research Centre’s International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) Database. TRID provides access to over 940,000 records of transportation research worldwide.

  • Google Scholar - a simple way to broadly search for scholarly literature. From one place, you can search across many disciplines and sources: articles, theses, books, abstracts and court opinions, from academic publishers, professional societies, online repositories, universities and other web sites.

  • Web of Science  (Thomson Reuters, paywalled) - consist of six citation databases:

    • Science Citation Index Expanded - 8,300 notable journals encompassing 150 disciplines, from 1900.

    • Social Sciences Citation Index - 4,500 journals encompassing 50 social science disciplines. Additional 3,500 notable scientific and technical journals, from 1900.

    • Arts & Humanities Citation Index - 2,300 arts and humanities journals. Additional 6,000 scientific and social sciences journals, from 1975.

    • Conference Proceedings Citation Index - 148,000 journals and book-based proceedings in two editions: Science and Social Science & Humanities, encompassing 256 disciplines.

    • Index Chemicus indexes -  2.6 million compounds, from 1993.

    • Current Chemical Reactions indexes - 1 million reactions from1986.

  • SciVerse Scopus (Elsevier, paywalled) - citation databases covers 18,000 titles from 5,000 publishers.

• Online Citation Tools.

  • CiteULike - a browser-based tool which lets you bookmark research papers online and import the corresponding metadata into your public CiteULike account. 5.8m papers.

  • Mendeley - develops desktop software which creates your personal library database by automatically extracting metadata and cited references from the research papers on your hard drive, and backup share online. 150m papers, 1.5m users.
